Premier Sanader said that Croatia has ideas of how some proposals can be different, but that he cannot speak about that yet.
Croatia accepts the latest proposal by the European expansion commissioner Olli Rehn, which deals with solving the Croatian border dispute with Slovenia. Croatian leaders decided this after consulting with representatives of the parliamentary parties.
“A take it or leave it proposal is in question, and we have decided to take it” said president Stjepan Mesic.
In Slovenia, critics claim that Rehn’s third article is ambiguous when sea borders are in question, and that Slovenia is not recognized as having the “status of a seaside country”, because it does not state its exit to the open sea, with which Slovenia “lost its right to declare a sea belt”.When asked if Croatia’s acceptance of Rehn’s proposal means that Croatia does not have any complaints about it, premier Sanader answered:
“We have thoughts about the proposals that could be different, but we accept the aim of the proposal, and we talked about certain elements. But it is not the time to reveal them”.
The presidents of the state and cabinet, Stjepan Mesic and Ivo Sanader, announced that the state leaders have come to a consensus about accepting Rehn’s proposal.
They stressed that they will answer Rehn within the next 24 hours, after consultations with the parliamentary parties.
On the other hand, Slovenian politicians say that Rehn’s proposal does not recognize Slovenia’s status as a seaside country, because it does not declare a passage to open sea.
:Dfor those who asked why was so big fuss about 20 m2 arouns some litle river...all that was is for delay of entering in EU.
result of all this is:
