I will update this regularly. The website link for where I am getting these jobs is http://wsd.dli.mt.gov/mjshome.asp
you can search for state government jobs or you can search by region or county.
The racial demographics, gun laws or lack of them, and the low population and excellent school systems ( There are less than a million people in the whole state) make it an ideal location if you are looking to move to somewhere for a better life and a better life for you children.
Oh, and please dont clog up this useful thread with a bunch of bs posts or I will have to hunt you down and beat you with a wet kosher noodle.

I wonder if they really mean that. Seems like sooner or later the gub'mint would clamp down and try to force diversity in there somehow.

My circumstances would require that I worked for myself or as an independent contractor. I will not work as an 'employee.'
Specifically I build and repair computer workstations, servers, and networks among other things. To include hardware and software issues. Run cable to and from switches, etc.
I can (and have) installed networked video surveillance systems in retail establishments. One such system had 11 cameras; nine on the inside and one each at the front and back doors with the video and audio output to a hard drive based video recorder and two separate in store displays and the feed was viewable over the web via tcp from anywhere in the world.
I have a sign cutter and can create signage of most any kind excepting electrical. Wood, Coroplast, banners, vinyl lettering of all kinds on glass doors, windows, trucks, and cars, decals, and bumper stickers.
Graphtec CE5000-60 (http://www.graphtecamerica.com/ce5000series.html)
http://www.graphtecamerica.com/images/product-lg-ce5000.jpg
I can (and have) built and installed custom home audio systems as well and have the equipment (plasma screen lift) to mount large (60" & >) plasma screen monitors on walls without any additional help.
I have many other skills but the above are the ones that translate into sustaining and supporting my life.
I'm not sure how my above skills would translate in Montana but I would be curious to know.

OTPTT, with your broad skill base and willingness to work for yourself I believe you would do well in the Northwest. It's people who come here expecting to find a bunch of high-paying factory jobs that will be disappointed.
I don't know where you live now, but wages are probably lower here, especially if you're in a major metropolitan area or on the coast. However, the cost of living here tends to be quite a bit less in many ways. Compared to friends living in California, we spend far less on real estate, property taxes, vehicle licensing, and some types of food. Electricity in the Northwest is overall the cheapest in the nation, I believe. For reference, I pay 7 cents per KWH. Services are generally cheaper here too. For instance, the chiropractor I used in the Seattle area was $60 a visit, here it's $35. Our local movie theater, a White-owned family business, shows first run films in a beautifully restored 1930s movie house. Adult tickets are $4, large popcorn $1.50, large soda and candy are $1. Those are just a few things off the top of my head.
