ZAGREB, CROATIA – The Croatian police directorate has informed media that a local warrant for the arrest of Branimir Glavas (valid in the Republic of Croatia) had been issued and that, in cooperation with other competent institutions, the process of issuing an international warrant is underway.
With 8 votes for and 1 against, the Mandate-Immunity Committee of the Croatian Parliament has authorised the imprisonment of Branimir Glavas, i.e. removed his immunity as a member of Croatian Parliament this afternoon.
The Committee`s decision is executive, which means that Branimir Glavas has become a fugitive and the police have an arrest warrant issued after him.
Bosnia-Herzegovina police officers interviewed Glavas. He has reported several addresses where he is staying and where he might be staying in BH territory and has made himself available.

The only person to have voted against was Vladimir Sisljagic (of the Croatian Democratic Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja, which is Glavas` party) who proposed for the vote to be postponed until the matter reached the end and the verdict became valid.
Somebody could physically liquidate him. I do not exclude him being physically unsafe. I cannot divulge information. Both in Zagreb and in Osijek we witnessed liquidations in the city centres more than once, so I do not exclude that possibility. Who would order his liquidation? Should be ask Faber? I don’t know. Ask the people who deal with this kind of thing.

As he pointed out, Branimir Glavas` attorneys are submitting an appeal before the Supreme Court and cannot see a reason for his immunity to be revoked.
His proposal did not come across the support of other Committee members, who advocated that Glavas should go to prison.
Some criticised the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) because Glavas did not remain in custody during his trial in the Sellotape and Garage cases, but was released a year and a half ago, also after the Mandate-Immunity Committee passed its decision.
- Yesterday when I spoke with Branimir Glavas I advised him to take care and be in a safe place – Vladimir Sisljagic, the president of Glavas’s Croatian Democratic Party of Slavonija and Baranja (HDSSB), said at a news conference on Monday which he held immediately after parliament’s mandate and immunity commission decided to strip Glavas of his MP immunity so he could be imprisoned.
Although, according to unofficial sources, Branimir glavas is currently in Ljubuski, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sisljagic did not want to either deny or confirm this information. But he said that Glavas did not violate any Croatian laws.
