I recommend a thriller called Southern Comfort (1981): starring Powers Boothe, Kieth Caradine, Fred Ward, Peter Coyote.

Its about a troop of national guardsmen who track into the bayous of Lousiana for a little wargames excersize. Along the way they come across a set of canoes tied to the shore of a lake and not seeing any owners around they decide to make their trip shorter and take them. While paddling across the lake they see a group of cajuns watching them from the woods. For a joke one of the guardsmen opens fire on the cajuns with blank rounds. But a few minutes later their commanding officer suddenly has his head shot off by the cajuns. The guardsmen quickly swim to the side of the lake. Realizing that they're lost and defenseless (because they only have blank rounds) they cautiously make their way out of the bayou. But along the way they're in hot pursuit by the cajuns who set several traps for them--including wild rotweilers, bear traps, spikes, and falling trees. And the cajuns pick them off one by one.

Towards the end of the movie one of the cajuns explains their motivations:

Guardsman: "You want to tell us what the hell's going on here!!??"

Cajun wielding shotgun: "Its quite simple really. This is our home....and nobody fuhk wit us!"

Ah a classic that was my Dad’s all time favorite movie.

I loved seeing city people that wouldn’t give hillbillies the time of day at the mercy of those backwoods rednecks.

If they hadn’t brought that Mexican along none of that would have happened.

Not to Stormfront, keep beaners out of the revolution, no matter how intelligent you are when you side with a spic they can get you killed by ignorant rednecks.

yep it was the hotheaded Mex that started the shit. Tell me you guys didnt get some shitz and grinz from those Cajuns sticking it to em.

And the part where the survivor staggers into the town at the end, and they're playing that Cajun music, I can almost hear it, something snappy, "dansez dansez avec moi ma belle...."

I love that music.

I like the part where the rotweilers attack them. If I ever saw those big ass dogs coming after me I would run like a nigger chasing his foodstamps!

Also, I love these quotes:

Guardsman 1: "Here in the Louisiana Guard all we do is beat up college kids and tear-gas niggers!"

Nigger Guardsman: "Oh pleasse mr. guardsman dont use the cannisters, dont sick the sheperd dogs on me!"
--------------------------------------------------

Another nigger guardsman (later): "I've been hanging around niggers my whole and I still aint got a break yet!"

rotties can be pretty scary, mine is 7 years old. he doesnt bark much but when he does the hair still goes up on my neck. the kids love him and he loves them, but his favorite is my wife. my rottie believes that no men are allowed in my house other than kin and not even all of them. women he lets pass without a sniff. that is comforting, LOL.

"beau soleil" is a name of a group that has recorded lots of cajun music in case you are interested.
