This is true -Yesterday there was a long infomercial on TV hosted by the Beelzebub Twins Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. They want all their viewers to fork over 75 to 300 dollars to the mayors of Israel because according to them Israel is one big hell hole of sick and old people sitting around crying and starving. They need Mother Teresa, from the looks of it, but they will settle for some cold, hard cash. The Israelis plan to spend the money on bus fares (to their US funded health clinincs?), chicken dinners, and bringing in menial laborers to clean the stinking mess Israelis make and leave all over Jerusalem. The old folks are looking forward to the day they will be handed a bag of free groceries, instead of having to go and shop like normal people.

How did this come to be? The Israeli host explained - like all parts of the world, Israel has had a lot of immigration and this has opened them up to terrorists (shots of Palestinians here), and this has wrecked the economy. (Well, that's one way of looking at it.) Now the Christians who paid to ship a million Russian Jews to Israel have been informed they are responsible to take care of these same folks in their miserable old age.

The area is arid, it's no big deal, there is plenty of native agriculture that does not require tons of water, like olive and date groves.
