I think a lot of racism is built out of misconceptions. I worked breifly for a collections department at a utility company in a state with rather liberal protections on energy users, meaning that they are given 100 options before they are shut off even if their bill is 10,000.00 which many times they were. Being that I am white and "sound white" I occassionaly got a call from a customer who was far in debt and would blame the collection activity on the company because the company was racist. I had guys tell me that black people aren't stupid and we can't get away with it. Many of my co-workers were called honkeys and racists etc. But the calls that we recieved even more often than that were actually from whites. Crazy whites who were in debt and would say, "well this wouldn't be happening if I was black" or could I get another agreement if I was black? Or call a rep the N word no matter who they were. And yes the whites pulled the race card far more than the blacks. The whole thing was ridiculous. The policies that we went by were the same for EVERYONE yet many people resorted to the race tactic when they rang up thousands in bills and went through all available options. If any of these people actually worked with us they'd see how the customers are not discriminated against. I don't know where these people got their ideas from, from their families? From what? I don't know but the thing is that these people who called and said these things were kind of losers. And they definitely didn't sound happy. They were miserable people at the end of their rope.

I mean is that how you guys are? I would really like to understand how people get into this hate activism. Have you never been around Jews? And as for the put the women in their place men, are you insecure about your manhood? Do you think that you have to keep a woman at home or she will leave you for a better world? As for the argument that Blacks couldn't manage the country because of how Africa is- well that is assumming that the conditions in Africa are the same here. They aren't. The history of our country has been a lot different. Remember that we came to America with European technology and after establishing the nation WE bought slaves to do a lot of work for us. We didn't live in tribes not because we are so genetically gifted, but because that wasn't our culture. So we avoided tribal warfare and we were able to enjoy the industrial revolution. In Africa the industrial revolution was slowed down by slavery (and yes I know rich black leaders sold slaves okay I know no one is innocent in historys attrocities) The money that came in from the slavery at times led the leaders that sold the slaves to not have to focus on technology the way many other countries had to. And America used slavery even when our European relatives had banned it. Also Africa has had to deal with tribal warefare and other issues that we do not have to deal with simply because of things like geography and our sometimes abuse of other nations. Also, you know things like aparthied never help. Things like having Nelson Mandela, a great leader, inprisoned never helps either. So when you are talking about blacks, as in blacks living in America, running the country you are in no way talking about a citizen of Africa running the country, totally different worlds there. It's not really about skin color as it is so much environment. Of course you want to talk about a black person in an underdeveloped country or in one of America's ghettos it'll be different then talking about the average suburban kid. And unfortunately it's hard to break the cycle of poverty when education is the key and after high school education is very expensive.

And as for blacks having it easier....That is a joke. First of all black families have had far less time to make it this country as our European settlers have had. Segregation and Jim Crow was not that long ago. Jim Crow prevented blacks from getting equal treatment and equal education. If you are almost forced to be illiterate you'll most likely be poor. If you give birth to children during or after Jim Crow you'll probably be doing it from a poor area where the schools aren't great and where even if they did get good grades in school who's going to pay for higher education? There are so many issues that face minorities who have been mistreated that I'm sorry but us whites will never experience. And yes I get that there are scholorships etc, but student aid through the government really isn't much a lot of the loans are for bare minimum and may not even be granted every year even if you are on the poverty level. I know that some people like to say they have it easier because of Affirmative Action. Okay so a black kid has a slight edge when applying to the university of michigan (although if they are coming from somewhere like detroit pulic schools they most likely lack the edge on their high school education) but they also have many disadvantages. I grew up in a nice town with all whites and the school system there is very good. But when a black person moved here they were harrassed and moved away. My cousin moved here and she is interracial, she is younger than me and her class seems to be more accepting than mine was (I'm class of 2000) but she still has it rough and there is no reason why she should. She is a nice and intelligent girl. She does not have any sort of agenda nor does she make the town any less nice or safe. Yet she gets crap from ignorant kids taught by ignorant adults.
