Not that the current moderators are not doing an EXCELLENT job. It can get overwhelming and their resources might be spread too thin.

My position is that ALL new nyms must be moderated until they "prove" themselves, may be 50, perhaps even 100 or more posts. I know that's a pain in the ass for newbies who are legit, but look how much trouble one rectum-lover can do.

We must also actively and aggressively go after these bastards with whatever information we have, IPs and date/time stamps in particular.
This was tried several times but never enforced. Somone could just spam one sentance posts and in an hour spam with porn.

It'd be nice if there were a second level of moderator, whose only power is the power to ban people. About 10 people like this would make all these problems go away. And we wouldn't have to worry so much about abuse of power if all they could do is ban people (instead of deleting posts, editing posts, etc.).

And of course the moderators would be moderated too, in a sense. If a second-level mod were to ban somebody without a clear reason, they'd not only be out of power but off the board. I think that we could trust even some of our most, erm, "opinionated" senior members with this sort of power. It'd be clear: the only time they are allowed to use their moderator power is to ban porn-spammers and the like. Those with high postcounts are clearly the best candidates since they're here more often: R Macdonald, Norcalnative, Antiochus Epiphanes, etc.

The best idea is to ban the ability to post images and attachmens until a certain post count is reached. Anyway, I'll be gone for a bit, if you do the deputies thing, keep me in mind, as I always go online in the morning, and scotfag is spamming right now, the same time he did yesterday. lol.
