Serbian representatives demonstratively left a gathering in Strasbourg where the Croatian president spoke of Kosovo as a ‘reality’, according to a source from the Croatian delegation.

After a speech on the so called school of democracy which is organized by the European Council, the Croatian president Stjepan Mesic answered questions, and amongst other things he said that today Kosovo is a reality, which Croatia has recognized.

According to Mesic’s words, if they do not intend on recognizing Kosovo’s independence, Serbia should enable cooperation in the region, and not disable it.

Representatives of Serbs from Serbia, Kosovo, Republika Srpska and Montenegro, who are all participants of the summer school of democracy, journalists, representatives of political parties and entrepreneurs, demonstratively stood up and left the gathering.

Mesic said that he regrets that they left, because he considers that they should have remained to discuss it.

Mesic commented the sudden resignation by the Croatian premier Ivo Sanader, and said that he considers that the way the resignation was filed was not appropriate, because it was not explained well.

Mesic considers that those who gained a mandate in parliament must explain their resignation in parliament. He added that he did not get a better explanation, and that Sanader offered him the same arguments as he gave the Croatian public.

Regarding the third bloc that has been speculated about in the Croatian public, and the possibility that it will be led by him, Mesic was asked if he is ready to become the Croatian premier. He answered that there is no need for him to return to operational politics. He said that there are enough capable people for political duties in Croatia, who can pull the country out of the crisis, but he did not list any names.

I never read that thanks for bringing it up (I probably blocked him long before he posted that ) , the guy changes opinions as quickly as one changes socks (i.e daily basis) so to be honest I really could care less.
