A friend brought this to my attention today. Apparently the WEC welding institute in Rock Hill South Carolina has a new program that gives you "free" training in welding provided you agree to work 2000 hours for $18 an hour after you graduate. There is a shortage of welders in the US and apparently the pay isn't bad. Beats the hell out of most kwallege or KwanMart.

Of course the down side is:
The racial makeup of the city was 58.74% White, 37.33% African American, 0.50% Native American, 1.39% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.02% from other races, and 1.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.48% of the population.
You could probably commute though.
