Drivers consider traffic fines to be too low in some cases. For example, 62 per cent of those surveyed say drivers of trucks who refuse to allow cars behind them to pass them should be fined much more than is the case at present.
Those surveyed also want people who drive under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, who do not obey the rules of the road when overtaking other vehicles and who run red lights to be fined much more.
Twenty-three of women try to charm policemen to avoid fines, but only two per cent of men do so.
