Just part way through watching this film.

They were tough men as far as I am concerned.

I thought it was ok. Not to hollywitzed up. I found the part after the battle ended with Crocket being the only man alive being a smartass to general Santa Anna a bit silly cause they were all slaughtered in real life. I also found it interesting that it showed the negros trying to learn spanish so they could be taken alive because before I saw the movie I figured there were going to be about 5 to 10 token negro slaves in it all willing to pick up arms ready to die and defy the Mexicans right along with the whites as hymie normally portrays them.

Living in Texas every time I go visit the San Jacinto monument and battleground I see almost nothing but mexicans swarming around wich basically shows that my goverment pissed away everything those men fought and died for to make this a state. By letting them have it all back.

Actually, you two, the Duke's third wife - his longest marriage - of 28 years, Pilar, was from Peru. As with his second wife, Esperanza Diaz Ceballos, they were Spanish looking in appearance, not friggin' Indians. Pilar was, in fact, rather pretty.
