Subject: Crooks go from ATM skimmers to fake ATMs

You guys have all heard of ATM skimmers, right, the things where they
put a plate containing a readhead over the magstripe reader in an ATM
and use it to skim ATM card numbers?

(if not, check out the gadget at
http://web.inter.nl.net/users/p.c.wiegmans/skimapparaat/index.html )

Well, at DEFCON, they discovered some crooks had installed an entire
fake ATM in the Hotel Riviera, probably some time prior. (The crooks
didn't bother to check whether or not the hotel would be full of
security experts in the near future.)
