It sounds like covert video may be the way to go. If you shop online
auctions there are always covert camera deals.
Although I never had any real problems with the landlord or anyone
else, I set up a cheap, portable security system in the late 90's/
early 2000 I used a program called "ISentinel" (win 98) with a video
capture device along with my PC to serve as a cheap DVR. The software
would call me via the modem if video motion was detected and it was
very reliable. The whole deal (used 400tvl camera, Isentinal software,
DLink USB video adapter, misc cable, etc) was under 150 bucks on EBay,
all used.
It also may be that the key control is lousy and someone is getting
access to your key or duplicated it. Or they could be bypassing the
lock by shimming etc. The video will tell the truth and it would be
enjoyable for you to bust them.
