Rings? Luxury! Before the AC electric bell was invented my parents had to
wire granny to the phone cables and wait for the operator to spin a little
gennerator.
Granny would go 'Oo oo arg' and we knew it was for the Walters next door
But when Granny went 'oo arg arg' we knew it was for us.
She died rather young and the doctors could not diagnose her ailment but did
comment on her unusually curly hair.
