I just wanted to say thanks to all contributors of all posts.even if some
categorize it as spam
Most of us can read faster than one can talk so please keep contributing,
its simple to filter or absorb.
there is so much to learn involving countermeasures that not one school, book
or person could ever "know all" ( except for marty, saul and ray) (kidding)
Many of us have paid our dues, and have been paid to do.Learning is a curve
not a box.A baby monitor can be as effective as a top of the line "only 2
built ever" device.while many may argue this the devices are at
work.Thinking outside of the norm is OK.
please keep feeding the list i truly enjoy it.

tip of the week: learn how a parasite works, what it's true capabilities
are,and how to implement or install it, so it will work. This knowledge makes
it so much easier to find, expecially if all you have is a flashlight and a
ladder.Ask any orkin man......

So true. This list is a diverse group of people. Sometimes you have to ask
specific questions
and off list if needed.

A spect mon is just a tool. You will see them everywhere. Some folks use
them more and
with greater skill than others.

Trust me, like in machine shop you best friends are a scale and file, in
TSCM your best friends are
knee pads and a flashlight.
True bug hunting is a lot of crawling around in places the cleaning crew
don't go. Your looking to see first
if someone has been there first and what they left.

A trained eye can tell a lot about a room. Is that fire extinguisher hose
out of place, because that is
a great place for a bug.

Anyway..... ya got 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason. Listen, listen, listen
and think before you ask.

hope this helped,
Onion

urbanreef, I can understand the frustration you express but I think
your definition of TSCM is fairly narrow.

While I find information about bug sweeps and spectrum interesting, my
personal focus in TSCM is more in the TCP/IP space (including VOIP and
wireless). I work client side but have worked with LEOs, trained with
them and have provided training in this space including incident
response.

If you restrict your interactions to only people who can use a
spectrum analyzer and can present a business card from a "known" TSCM
provider you may be doing yourself a disservice.

Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents.
