I agree with you on much of = what you say...but think you have the crime fighting source w= ith these cameras a little mixed up.
Remember we also fight drug and alcohol abuse with educational sources. Som= e might argue that educational sources used by the government have not impr= oved these but they actually have. Teenage drug use is way down.

I think when people word it as crime fighting they are referring to... =
Insta= lled in public places or retail markets they can "DETER" crime
Fight terrorism (Yes fight...but I won't debate this with anyone)
How By:
Providing the police with leads
