The abuses start when non-qualified people install security systems (any,
including physical and IT security), that will be operated by non-qualified
operators.
And of course, if needed, one must watch the watchers ...
As the article say, security operators are not angels, but the rest of the
consideration are just ignorante and stupid. Regarding "the news being
reported from around the world" is more ignorance and stupidity, because the
news I have from around the world is about that "digital witness" helping
many times to anticipate an intrusion or to identify an intruder or
reporting a crime or a fire or much more things that can be monitorized.
But considering cameras a crime-fighting tool, is more ignorance exposed,
because no camera can fight crime, avoid or block peoples actions, they can
report, nothing more.
Well ... if "YOU" (who ever you are, and I trust that is not konrad) install
them, yeah ... probably they will be abused ;-)
