A built in 540 megabyte hard disk drive combined with the LAN connectivity now makes it possible to use the HP B3740A software analyzer for source line referencing, this is the ability to see correlated high-level C++ source code with the inverse assembled state listing.

  Ethernet LAN connectivity provides network access using X11, FTP, and NFS. Now you can use your 1660-series logic analyzer from your computer no matter where it may be on the network. Display and control the logic analyzer from your PC or Workstation just like you were in front of the instrument. Now the analyzer can be in lab and you can examine the data, make measurements, modify the logic analyzer trigger conditions, and diagnose the problem all in the quiet comfort of your office.
  
  Mount the logic analyzer as a file system using the Network File System (NFS) protocol. Screen images in the three graphical formats and ASCII lists of the data captured by the analyzer are now available to your computer through operations like the cp command in UNIX or the File Manager in MS Windows. Sharing measurement results, conducting data analysis and importing pictures into reports has never been easier.
  
  
• Utilize Mass Storage and DOS Compatibility
  A DOS-compatibile 540 Mbyte hard drive and 1.44Mbyte flexible disk drive come standard with the instrument. This makes data and configuration file storage andretrieval easy.
  
  
• Use Standard Data Formats
  Importing measurements data directly into wordprocessor or spreadsheet applications is easy because the data is stored in standard file formats. Listings are stores as ASCII files and screen images are stored in PCX, PostScript, or TIFF formats. The measurement data can be used in any PC or workstation application program that imports these file types. Source Line Referencing The software analyzer (HP B3740A) can be used with the 1660-series to provide time-coorelated source line referencing. You can easily compare the original high-level source code, such as C++, with the state listing code trace of the microprocessor. Trace activity in real time using your address symbols and in your high-level source language.
  
  
• Upgrade easily
  What happens if your application and budget make a 68 channel solution the best one for this year; but,next year the requirements change and you need 136 channels? With the 1660-series you can upgrade the number of channels. You can also add the oscilloscope and LAN capability after the purchase. Do you already have an HP 1660A series logic analyzer?
