this may be a good place to start.

I have an address book that I had saved before my system crash.

I want to import addresses to a new book. Shouldn't be too hard...

Olldbg wouldn't let me open it. I renamed to a different file extension and got it open but couldn't find any text that I thought changing would help me.

A MVP expert said there was no address book in Brand X's email program. :-)

Deleting all register references to the file don't help either.

Any suggestions.

OllyDbg only works on PE files.
