What are the chances of us getting a "video upload" section for the forum.

Let's see, you've been here only a few days and already you want us to make changes for you.

Why would we "need" a "video upload section" for the Forums and why would we want to burden our server with any significant number of "video's?"

What would we do with people attempting to post "video's" which violate our Rules agains posting "target specific code"?

People can already post links to video tutorials they may have made in their posts and allowing "uploading" of video's would create many more problems than the potential benefit they might offer.

posting a video here is going to be public anyway, so why not just upload to youtube or similar and post the link here? Saves both diskspace and bandwidth.

I sense you have pondered this before - both good answers. Thank you.

Video tutorials = degradation IMO.

Seriously, if you're going to reverse you'd better be prepared to read tomes upon tomes of dense information.

In other words, I don't see how a bandwidth-consuming, less easy-to-handle medium is going to provide any advantage in learning, especially given the quality of those I've bothered to download and watch.

But it takes so much EFFORT to actually STUDY "stuff" !!

Can't we just have someone make a pill or something which will just implant all the knowledge we need without our actually having to put forth any time or personal effort??

Huh?? Could we, huh, could we???

Please purchase one imediately so we can attempt to instill some small measure of common sense into you.

Well I wasn't planning on injecting a tracer into my abdomen - I was more interested in the 7-inch needle & head socket they used to upload Jujitsu and Helicopter pilot.

Apparently you are too dense to recognize the "plug-in" fixture in the lower half of the picture.

We have already installed the "tracer" and know from "where" in Canada you access these Forums.

Must say, I found watching a few of the Keystone learning videos much easier than reading the umpteen ebooks about Visual Studio. Probably something to do with me being an idle git. Listening is so much easier than reading.

But those "videos" are hardly in the category of RCE related videos that "Mr. Goner" was suggesting we host. Although "coding" software does have some uses for RCE in the broadest sence.

I'm sure "Mr. Goner" was referring to reversing tutorial videos.

Yup, coding does have roots in the rce community - if you know how to code something, its going to be easier to "un-code" someone elses version of it

I agree on videos for RCE though - if we hosted them, or just contained links to another site, we'd just be plagued with people saying "I followed the video exactly, but it didn't work for me - why?". Therefore, we should only gives hints and let the user unpack (or whatever) themselves. Far more knowledge is gained that way.

Hmmm, isn't that what we already do?

On an off-topic note, maybe we could deny PM privileges to people with less than (say) 25 posts? That would stop n00bs finding this site via Google and sending me PM's (and I assume other people) about hacking programs for them.

That's what JMI-style replies are for
