View Full Version : Icedump

I am using Softice 4.05.334 and Icedump 6023.

The /dump command worked for me a few weeks ago, but then it quit working, causing GPF's. /screendump also causes GPF's for me, but I never have had that function work (any luck EB?).
I reinstalled Softice, and the GPF's stopped for the /dump command, but it only creates a file of 0 bytes. It never actually makes the dump, just creates the file.

Any ideas?

Hiya,
I am not sure why you have that error. I solved my /screendump BOD by only screendumping if I break into Sice with a breakpoint. If I were to Ctrl D and then dump it, I will be asking for trouble.
/dump for me is ok. For example, if I were to dump at 00400000 for a length of 1000h bytes, I do /dump 400000 1000 c:\dump.bin
I don't get any errors at all. And I usually dump stuff not immediately after I Ctrl D into Sice but after a breakpoint and some tracing. Did you do anything to the icedump configuration? Maybe you can reinstall icedump again?

Regards
EB
