I'm not exactly sure how SoftICE detects Win API calls, but I can't set a BPX on anything on Windows Millennium. It has to be that OS because I've had the same problem with SoftICE v4.05 on two different systems with WinME. For instance:

:bpx GetDlgItemTextA
Symbol not defined (GETDLGITEMTEXTA)

Is the normal scenario for a breakpoint on any API. Also for those of you who had the problem, why can't I get SoftICE v4.25 to work on windows ME? After installing I reboot and my display is messed and I'm in Safe Mode. I know I'm doing the WinDDK stuff right because if I wasn't, how would SICE 4.05 work? :P

Anyway I've had this problem with SICE for quite some time and as you can see, that hinders things a bit.

Thanks.

I should also say that I'm loading the programs in Symbol Loader and it still doesn't work so that's not the problem. :P

I am getting the same problem with win2k but not with all bpx
When I say
bpx hmemcpy then I am getting
symbol not defined (HMEMCPY)
I have Uncommented WinIce.dat for Exp Statements.

Yeah I finally fixed it by downloading a file called wmldr.zip and then unzipping loader.exe into /windows/system/vmm32
