Hello,

I'm using edgespro11.exe to read a sentinel dongle and create a .dng file.
the file is ok and its working with the emulator.

is it possible to write this .dng file back on an empty dongle ?

thanks,
amit.

As directed to do by the FAQ, which YOU DID READ, DIDN'T YOU, tell US what YOU have done to attempt to find the answer to this question by searching these Forums and on the net for the answer to YOUR question.

Have you actually attempted to find and read any available information on writing .dng files back to your brand of dongle?? At the moment it simply appears that you have failed to even attempt your own basic research on the subject of your objective.

Hi JMI,

I did read the forum for an answer and also many other forums and websites.

and did not find a way to write .dng file back to a dongle.

believe me, i spent many hours looking how to do it and came up with nothing.

i found many discussions about downloading and emulating a dongle but none about writing them back....

if i missed a discussion about it in this forum, please direct me to it.... or any other information.

thanks and BR,
Amit.

What are you using as a search criteria???

Using:

writing .dng file to dongle

I get 3,700 hits. On one of them that I looked at quickly, they were discussing a tool, that had been "cracked," which has a button on it for writing the .dng file to the dongle.

Perhaps you are not using a useful search criteria.

It is often said, here and elsewhere, that learning how to effectively search for what you need is one of THE most important skills of a reverse code engineer.

Be advised, if you are attempting to read postings on the Exetools Forums, where I also administer, the URL has changed from:

http://www.exetools.com/forum/

to

http://forum.exetools.com

You apparently have no sense of "self-effort" and only want someone to hand you a literal solution on a silver platter because YOU failed to use "personal initative" to solve YOUR OWN PROBLEM.

So far, it appears that you have only clicked a couple of buttons on a ready made tool and then ran that result with an emulator without really spending much time or effort attempting to learn what you are really doing and how it all may work.

Next it was suggested to you that YOU use YOUR Brain and YOU search for information about what YOU want to accomplish and you are even given a suggestion, which, again, YOU only take "literally" and again fail to use YOUR brain to attempt to find what YOU want.

What variations of "writing .dng file to dongle" did YOU try? Does someone need to take YOU by the hand and give YOU the URL of what YOU want or need to solve YOUR problem??? WE don't do that here. YOU are supposed to do YOUR basic research.

What tools did you use, as outlined in your first post? What research did YOU do about that tool? Using the name of that tool and/or variations of the first search criteria I gave you, it took me less that a minute to find a tool which claims to have this as one of it's "features":

"Open "Dongles" tab and press the "Load dump" button, then navigate
to the .dng file you created with EDGESPRO11.EXE".

Whether this writes to the dongle or just to an emulator may be only the start of your journey, but it is a journey YOU should be making.

But YOU do not appear to actually be "thinking" about what you are doing and what YOU might need. YOU just "want" to be given the solution to YOUR problem, when YOU should be making the personal effort, and exercise the personal determination to go find what YOU want.

You have more than enough hints to find what you are apparently looking for. The rest is up to YOU!

hi,
i searched this forum, exeTools, ReTeam and others.
i search "write to Dongle", "Write .dng file", "write to dongle", ".dng to dongle", "program dongle *.dng" and many others.

i used "edgespro11.exe" to create the .dng and sentemul2007 to emulate the license.
everything is working smooth.

but i still cant find a tool that writes back the .dng to a different dongle.

i wrote my question in this forum to get help from you, if i could find it my self i wouldn't have asked you.

if you do know a name of a program or a specific URL, why don't you write it ?
if it took you less then a minute to find it, why don't you write it here?

forums are made to exchange info. between people, some times you give and sometimes you get....

if i saw a question about somthing and know the answer to it i would have just written it....

i don't get you,
you want me to stop writing in this forum ? if so, just say so, and i'll say goodbye and never write here.

but if YOU can help ME, why don't you do so.

thanks.

My job is not to "give" you an answer, but to try to stimulate YOU to go and find the answer to your questions, yourself. No one here has an "obligation" to "give" you an answer.

You have a "sentinel dongle" and want to write to that dongle. YOU should be searching for information on writing to sentinel dongles. Clearly there "must" be software which will "write" to a sentinel dongle, because they sell the dongle to people who program them for their own use with their software, including vendor information and features and such.

For example, what research have you done on the Sentinel SDK and whether or not it has the ability to "write" to "an empty dongle???

Have you read anything on CrackZ' Site, linked at the bottom of these Forums, on this subject?

with all due respect,

i don't want to do a full research about dongles.... i dont need to know how everything works.

i just need to duplicate a dongle.

sure there must be a program to do it but i cant find it... it is possible that i don't exectly know what i'm looking for...

never said that you job is to give me anything or that you are obligated to do so.

i was just asking for your help.

if you want to help me... it will be much appriciated...
if you don't, it's ok, maybe some one else will help.

if you know a name or a URL of a program that writes DNG file to a sentinel dongle, than i'm asking you to please let me know how to get it, that's all.

thanks in advance.

Amit.

Wow, I have absolutely zero need for or any interest in the software being described here and in less than 2 minutes found and downloaded the specific program JMI was alluding to in his replies So Amit, put aside your ego and actually read what JMI is writing and you'll get what you want, or at least start to find the path

hi John,

there are no ego issues....

i found many applications that do many things... none of them is writing a DNG file back to a dongle.

i'm pretty sure that the one you found is of them....

if you please give me it's name i'll promise to check it and if you are right i promise to appologize.

thanks.

While searching for a solution for your problem I found this relevant thread here:

I could be wrong (happened once or twice before) but your chances of writing back to a new dongle don't look good.

There are some dongle duplication services out there, mainly I know of a physical hasp service but I am not sure if sspro is available. To answer your question, you cannot burn a dng file back to another dongle with what is available publicly. Your main issue here is probably that the empty dongle clone you are going to make doesn’t match the algorithm descriptors of the publishers’ dongle and hence you won’t get anywhere. If the empty dongle happens to be an empty dongle from the publisher, you're set and just need to match the algo based cells(~1-7) + memory; I doubt you have that btw; guessing you have a blank sdk dongle you bought for 80 Americans or so. Your only option is to buy a mcu from some company like atmel and duplicate the algorithm and interfacing mechanism (very hard). Use the software emulation. O, if you really need a duplicated sspro and this is all not out of curiosity for learning, it’s obvious in that case a blatant attempt to sell some poor sucker a cloned dongle for a software and that's worst than piracy and outright will get you shot, at which point I am more than happy to give this answer in this case. Lastly, the dng file produced by keygen is specifically made for that emulator and is not a generic format. dongs

btw, a search on this forum would have yielded this post:

Just to add to this briefly.

personmans & korvak are correct.

There isn't any way of writing to cells 0-7. I recall perhaps some very early Sentinels pre-95 that could be written in an undocumented manner but this was changed fairly shortly after.
