View Full Version : Extracting special files from Window Vista DVD

Hi all
probably most of you know that DirectX 10 has released only for windows Vista and it has not been released for Windows XP.
There are some unofficial DirectX 10 in web(like DirectX 10 NE),but they are not stable(I tried it and it failed for my first test).
I thought it is not a bad idea to try and get those files from Windows Vista DVD and check if these files can be used on windows xp or not.
But when I checked windows vista dvd,I noticed that its structure has been changed and all files are packed into install.wim(Windows Imaging Format Archive).
Anybody knows how I can extract what I need from these files?
And is there any other better way for setting up directx 10 on windows xp?
