Is it a seeking of knowledge and a doubting of what you hear and see?

Is it a want,a need, a desire?

What backs your motivation?

Is it anger, doubt, malice, stryfe, or something else?

Do you seek something you have yet to identify and yet believe you will find it?

What music motivates you or helps you concentrate?
Is it 'heavy' or 'soft', light or dark, black or white and red all over?

Do you ask enough questions, and seek to further verify the answers you attain\receive?

Do you see this as ascertaining the 'human nature' of you, or as some off the wall scream of insanity?

What do you think of my chosen handle? Do you think its just a name,or do you think there is something else is behind it?

Explain your answers please

what motivates me: the rush of figuring out the solution to something that was damn hard to understand
oh, and getting paid to do it doesn't hurt

Motivation:
I want to understand in order to be able to improve (my life in the end, and also other people's lives), and also in order to be able to reduce and avoid risks (which is of course a part of the life improving aspect too). Knowledge is power, plain and simple. A natural curiosity is of course a big part of it, but behind anything "natural" there is often really a deeper explanation, a deeper drive, I think.

Oh, and regularly getting confirmed that you're smarter than a bunch of other people is a good ego boost bonus too I guess.

And about your handle, please let us know about the factors behind the choice. To me it would seem like something quickly chosen, and a little provocative even - it makes the banning trigger finger of a moderator itch just a little extra during the first few posts of the user having it I'd have to admit.

Howdy,

1) Absolutely. Someone told me a long time ago to question everything.

2) A need and a desire. Increase your brain or get a lobotomy.

3) My desire to learn. Nothing else to add.

4) My desire to learn. Good question that I cant really answer any other way.

5)This question is rather deep in regards to "knowing ones self".
Not everyone goes through this stage of life. I have, and come away knowing that I have found what I was looking for. It cant be done in a day or week or even a year. It comes in moments and sooner or later you will connect them all and then understand it.

6) None in particular. I listen to everything except Country/Western and anything that is played on the "pop" stations which pretty much includes anything made this decade except for Trance

7) It depends. If I have access to someone who clearly has superior knowledge, of course I will ask questions. Another thing I was told long ago, "there are no stupid questions......" I dont recall the rest of it but I think the first part is most important.

8) It is MY nature. As I have said before, I will spend hours on a 2 dollar item just to know, then throw it away and buy another.

9) The name strikes me in a way that is difficult to explain. I mean, I see no reason to ban you because you ask pertinent questions and give back to the community.

I am motivated by sex, and cheetos....well I dunno....string cheese is probably up there as well.... Other than that I love the people I meet online, the friends I have in other countries, the quest for knowledge, and Alaskan crab legs...

its good to hear so many answers ;]

Ill try to elaborate on my Handle a little bit..its wasnt quickly chosen..it took me a long time to get to..It is provoking, and It is also psychological and a philisophical to a point.. I cant tell you how many IRC's I have been banned from just for the name..sad..but I see it as if you judge me by my name you have not read the book..;p
The psychological and philisophical aspects come from within me..psychologically my name reminds me that I am flawed and I have to work against those flaws.philisophically my name lends much from my inner doubt of myself and helps me tear down my ego, making me the humbly unstable person i am today ;}

some of the thought that went into my handle:
the word 'Ban' is the worst thing that can happen to someone on the net..especially if that someone is genuinly interested in what they are banned from..my name also acts as a icebreaker for moderators especially on games..I always get asked about my name therefore why i entertained the question here.

I went through 2 Handles before this WSCPorts(Window Script Components Ports(ActiveX ports..in short..that was lame))then I struck on Not_Ice..(I thought it looked to much like Notice and didnt like the 'needy' feeling given by that name..)

Is it a seeking of knowledge and a doubting of what you hear and see? Sometimes both. I always question what I am told and I am always striving to learn new things. Once it is validated I take it in and store the info and then gather more to add to it in order to learn

Is it a want,a need, a desire?
We all start out with wanting something but unless we are extremely focused and stay on course, we soon find we get more of what we need and not what we necessarily want. :-)

What backs your motivation?
The desire to learn

Is it anger, doubt, malice, stryfe, or something else?
it all depends on what it is I've been told or have learned

Do you seek something you have yet to identify and yet believe you will find it?
Of course! we all do, I hope.

What music motivates you or helps you concentrate?
all music motivates me but does not help me concentrate

Is it 'heavy' or 'soft', light or dark, black or white and red all over? All types depends on the words and the beat of the music

Do you ask enough questions, and seek to further verify the answers you attain\receive?
Oh yes! Sometimes more than I should. Sometimes I discover what I have attained/or recieved as information is not necessarily how it was intended to be given.

Do you see this as ascertaining the 'human nature' of you, or as some off the wall scream of insanity?Oh yes, definitely it is my human nature to ask questions. Remember there are a lot of people who just accept things the way they are and never attempt to question them. This allows them to stay in their "victim" mode which is fine...eveyone has a right tobe where they choose to be. Some call it bliss. Remember this also, if any of our forefather inventors never asked questions, they would never have been inventors. There is a fine line between genius and insanity. Asking questions is simply a person that is inquisitive enough to change themselves and maybe the world.

What do you think of my chosen handle?
I'll throw this back at you...why do you want to be banned? From what?

Do you think its just a name,or do you think there is something else is behind it?
I think it is a a little bit more than a name but nothing to be afraid of.

what motivates me is a search for knowledge, to be able to understand how things work and how I can change them to my liking. I don't have favorite type of music that I want to listen to, as a matter of fact when I deep on an analysis, all background noise tends to disapears.

I also like challenges. The harder it is to break/understand something, the greater the gratification that I get when I am there.

And about the handle, although you already explained it, I would like to add that must people will pick up a handle that has some meaning to them. It is not that sounds cool or dangerous or whatever, it just that they can identify with it at the time they chose them. Because our characteristics/behaviour/likes/and way of thinking changes as we mature (physically and in knowledge), we may decided that the handle with once like, does not longer identifies/defines us anylonger. At this point we may ended up picking another.

Because I have been in the unanonymous community since elementry, I have used about three handles that best suite me during the different stages of my life. Now I go by the handle "owl", a very simple name. However, my reasons to pick it was because I at this stage of my life I can identify myself with some of the qualities of this bird. For one, I prefer to be a hunter than a prey
