Hello all, I am analyzing a protection called HexaLock which utilizes Gear Software to burn the protected images. This is a small software protection aimed at documents/pdfs and the like. I am also reading a post here
http://forum.exetools.com/showthread.php?t=11657&page=2 and I can not download the attached file at post #18. It seems that the encryption keys are close to sector 16 (where the title of the cd is) and I'm interested in the emulation file that another member has created. Would it be possible for someone to upload that file hear or spare an ExeTools invite?

Since I am an Admin both here and on the Exetools Forum, I can tell you you will not get download access just by registering on the Exetools Forum. You need a certain number of legitimate posts to qualify.

Thanks for the info JMI. How would I work my way towards an exetools registration? Would it be in my best interest to post what I have learned about the protection here?

Although this is a better subject for a Private Message, I will simply state that Aaron, who owns the Forum and Server, makes the decisions about opening new membership registration. That said, you could be "invited" by a member there. However, if you do acquire a membership, there are minimum numbers of "useful" posts for promotion through the ranks to where you could download attachments. This is intended to prevent the practice of registering solely for the purpose of downloading something attached to one of the Threads.
If you show something useful here, it would make me more inclined to allow your membership there.

JMI,
Does that mean I've made totally meaningless posts here - (granted I'm an infrequent visitor to your other responsibility), but it does seem I bitched a couple of times and your always dead on advice was to go make some useful posts over there - but that might mean some work on my part HORRORS!!! - ahhh, can you smell the bitter grapes?

I can smell the grapes.
However, the "non-useful" post most frequently posted on Exetools were generally just "Thank you" posted in several threads in the hope of getting download priviledges. Those get deleted and Aaron has actually added a "Thank you" plugin, which puts a note in the bottom of a Post, without increasing anyone's post count. And still they try to post some variation of "Thank you."

Well, I guess I'll just have to get off my lazy ass and visit more often, now that i know you'll show some favoritism ---- well it could be just the opposite - I'll never know until I try!
