Hi all~~~, it's great to find such informative site.

i'm trying to figure out what type of dongle i have. i have used different dumping tools without success. i'm new here and i have searched and read many articles, but maybe i missed some. In that case, please tell me to look harder.

This dongle is USB key. Inside the key has a atmel 89c5131 micro-controller with 24mhz xtal.

It's housing is loose and i'm afraid of breaking it. Please point me to right direction for emulation. Thank you~~~

Use IDA to analyze the software that's using the dongle and use a tool from http://www.woodmann.com/collaborative/tools/Category:USB_Monitoring_Tools to monitor the USB communications.

not sure which dongle was using that mcu, but when you find out post it here. That particular mcu is weak against power glitch attack, which will allow you to dump the microcode. How about the obvious though? The plastic shell covering, brand of the shell, color, markings etc tells a lot!
