I've been following a live Starcraft 2 reverse-engineering event at irc://irc.rizon.net/sc2c and it is actually very interesting on many levels. Most interesting thing is that timezones do not really matter, the reversing keeps on going 24h/day.
Right now they are having problems unpacking a dll, hopefully they can figure it out before I go to bed.

Only starting from earlier today and it seems it went invite only.
Edit: "Topic for #sc2c is “welcome to [#sc2C r a c k i n g], This channel will keep you up to date. We will discuss elsewhere to make our life easier."

As far as I can tell unpacking the storm.net.dll is still the biggest hurdle.
Edit: Looks like it has been packed with an Armadillo variant.
The ultimate goal is to be able to play multiplayer games without Blizzard's Battle.net servers.
