When revirgin starts it gives the error "Traceer not available in this version of win 9x"
Installed it on my buddies w98se sys and it seems to start & run ok.
Any ideas?
TIA

did you put the tracer.dll into %systemroot% ?

I have at present the 2 dll's in c:\;c:\windows;c:\windows\system;c:\windows\system32, all at the same time.
I assume %systemroot% is c:\windows\system?
It makes no diff, same error.
On the 98se sys it runs ok on, all 3 (exe & 2 dll's) are just on the desktop.
I took an old HD and installed 98se using 98lite as a barebones OS and it runs ok.
The sys I am trying to run it on is 98se installed over 95 OSR2, perhaps this is the problem?

Thanks for your reply

I have the same problem
I install revirgin and it asked about trace.dll.
I copy this dll to windows directory. but without result.
I must re install my WIN98?

If it is the latest version of RV (v 1.31 or later .. be careful with the about box versions, they lie ), you might benefit by reading the readme.doc. I quote from that:

"All further coding on win9x will now be stopped for two reasons :"

If you're getting tracer.dll is not found in your system32 error message, then look up the post on how RV uses timestamp to locate the DLL and how to fix this issue somewhere on this board. I'd written a source snippet to achieve the same but that was on Win2K. Nobody complained about this on Win98 SE AFAIK.

Hope this helps,
