Hi.
I have some software that I am trying to crack, but all of the tutorials I have seen detail ways to crack an exe with all the data needed in that one file.
But the problem I have is that the exe is run, then the software uses a dll (where the activation is processed) then returns to the exe I guess.
I cant seem to figure out how to get Olly to track through the exe at the same rate as the exe is running - so, I have no idea where the dll used for the activations is being called.
Also then when it jumps to the dll, how do I get Olly to track through the dll as data is being changed on-screen?
I am trying to set some breakpoints, but have no idea where to set them!
Can anyone give me some pointers please?!
Thanks in advance

what part of you 'post can show you did something' like rtfm..

I will not 'yell at you', I would merrily suggest reading about olly more.. single stepping...
the 'view tab' and tracing.. Much information is 'here' if you can put it together...

but will Olly allow me to initially load the exe then follow the path into the dll and trace that as well?

You need to browse the Ollydbg site a bit more carefully, and search for DLL Loader and/or how to load dlls in Olly.

You can alternatively search on these forums itself, and you'll be amazed at the plethora of information.

Finally, don't give up.

Yeah, that's overkill.

I don't need no info. I don't need no debugger control. Hey, crackers! Leave us noobs alone. All in all, it's just another crack in the wall.

Wanna hit bull's eye. Gimme a .dll cracker.
