I'm currently working on a program that uses the same protection (SafeCast), it's 32 bit but it should function the same way. The version I'm working on is pretty new tho. When I'm done I'll try to post some info about it.

Hello

I am newbie in this field but I don't know about C Dilla being 'old'. It is used in the latest 3D Studio Max and the keygen by Titan for that program works for a while and then the prog throws a 'authorisation error' back at you and the C Dilla system refuses to allow re authorisation. There is somehting hidden somehwere that cannot be deleted.

Pissed me off no end I can tell you, and I bet Titan were not too happy either.

Hi, I am currently working on a crack for Autodesk's Inventor Release 4
which happens to use the same protection system. And I guess I can at least tell you where there is something hidden as you call it. In general, what cdilla does is to decrypt one or more dlls which are stored in an encrypted way on the harddisk at load time.
As you might probably know, a reauthorisation is not possible, not even if you format the partition where The OS and the protected software are installed. So, that information must be stored at some other place on the harddisk. In case of Inventor R4 it is sector 32 on the boot harddisk (in some seldom cases it is a different sector). It should be noted that it's the same with Mechanical Desktop Release 5 which is also Cdilla-protected. As 3D Max is also an Autodesk product, I do assume that it shouldn't be much different.

PS: For Inventor and MDT there's an easy way of restoring the 30 day trial period. ie. just erase the content of sector 32 using a low level disk editor (eg. dskprobe.exe - an Nt/w2k recource kit utility).
Additionally, delete the .dat file which is located in the cdilla directory of your harddisk.

As far as the code generator is concerned, I do assume that this one only produces temporary authorization codes. You should check the About-Box of 3d Max to check whether you have a permanent license or a temporary one.
