View Full Version : Dead HASP4 Dongle (Aladdin) for Profile Master 2000 -- Help with Dump?

Hi all. I'm trying to help a relative of mine whose CAD/CAM install recently stopped functioning with dongle-related complaints. I took a quick look and it appears that the dongle itself--an old Aladdin HASP4 key--has stopped working. That's a problem since it's the only one he has and without it he can't cut sheet metal (do his job). I've tried every driver possible and nothing will allow me to dump the contents of this thing so I'm pretty sure the actual hardware is hozed in some way (maybe corrupted firmware?).

My question is this: Is there any way to "recover" the contents of these things? If not, does anyone have the old Aladdin admin console the manufacturer of this CAD/CAM package ("Profile Master 2000" may have used to code the key? It's from 2004 so it's pretty old... I have all the passwords/license keys needed to unlock its modules. I just don't have any idea how to generate a DNG/REG that I can use to drive one of the emulators.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My brother-in-law is basically dead in the water without this thing (he can't work). A full upgrade costs like $20k and he definitely doesn't have that.

The dongle itself has "HASP" written on one side and a few things on the other side:

HASP4-[can't quite read this]
4.3c
COTMQ
010574

I have the original installation media for Profile Master 2000 and it ships with the old Aladdin drivers (hinstall, hupdate, ViewHasp), v4.81.

Any help would be much-appreciated. I'd love to be able to dump this thing and use an emulator; it just seems that the key itself isn't functioning so I can't actually do that...

Thanks,

Ray

Thanks, Woodmann. I just wrote to Sp0raw. This thing's hard to find--especially the 2004 version he was using so I'm hoping there's a way forward. If I could get the dongle to communicate I could dump it myself but I've tried everything with no luck... Anyway, thanks for the link.
