Download at tsehp.cjb.net

added (and tested) support for safedisc 2, it will also auto realign your dump and paste the it.bin file at the end.

safedisc 2 games that were revirginized :
red alert 2
nolf
f1rc

and also the safecast trial you can download at macrovision.com

You cannot ask me how this works, there are much much threads/topics about my tool on this msgboard, but I'm available to debug the new version, it was beta tested by r!sc and me but it surely needs some more test, about 25 % of code was rewritten.

Nice piece of work! The mangled option is very interesting. Unfortunately, my Win9x version is not supported by the tracer! Any future plans for supporting Win98SE (4.10.2222A)?

Is much work required to reconfigure the tracer to work under other Win versions?

hi, ltns . you securom freak ;-)

i got 4.10.222A .. and the tracer works .. make sure u got thread.dll in %windir% or whatever it says .. or was it tracer.dll ...

revirgin supports all windows but 95, i think ..

risc is right, but I have to advertise on this on the readme + site page,
tell me if it still doesn't work after crushing the old files, tracer and thread were rewritten.

I'm actually debugging the tracer to make it work with hitman (sd2).

If I have not too much work debugging this new version, I'll begin to adapt the tracer for revirgin to find the app's OEP, but I have to do some speed tests, if it goes more than 50% slower than icedump's tracer, I'll give up this option.

take care,

Yes, I have the file in the windows\system dir (although shouldn't it still work being in the same directory as revirgin since the current dir is part of the dll search path?)

It performs three searches on functions to check if the win version is compatible. The first two pass okay, but the last one (a search through IFSMgr I think) fails and up pops the message that the tracer can't be used with this version of win9x.

This message pops up as soon as I run revirgin. It doesn't matter what program I'm attempting to trace. Revirgin won't give me the option of tracing anything. What did you want me to send you?

But revirgin doesn't support winnt4,which doesn't
support toolhelp functions.
sigh...

This message comes from the main program that doesn't manage to patch your win version, send me your kernel32.dll compressed and I'll fix this.

Sorry for potentially newbie questions, but...

What tool(s) do you personally use to get a good dump of SD2 to revirginate (procdump, icedump, ...)?

Is Icedump enough to bypass the SD2 anti softice under W9x? Because without Icedump, I get "unload debugger," but with Icedump, "insert correct CD." I am wondering if there is more anti softice after that last nag. (I don't have any SD CD's, but I'm experimenting with the old Ra2.zip and decryption key that r!sc posted here months ago.)

Best regards,

t.b.

Ah, I just realised, it may not be getting my win version properly because the kernel32.dll was modified by icepatch some time ago. Could this be the cause? I'll email you the kernel32 file as well.
