does anyone have an idea, how long it takes to get the REKML membership approved after subscription (membeship is needed for accessing the file area - I'm looking for a crypkey essay which must be there) ?

Is there any chance to become a member ?

And of course - is it worth to request the membership (are the monthly newsletters OK?) ?

you will receive an email after you subscribe
about 15 minutes or 1/2 an hour maybe they will tell you how to activate it.

AFAIK the confirmation email should be sent shortly after you request to subscribe. The list does not require my approval for membership, so if you still havent recieved it, try again.

If you still struggle, please let me know, and ill add you manually, and look into it.

The crypkey essay is still in the files area. Int he meantime you can also find it on my site at carpathia.cjb.net/CrypKey.zip.

I encourage everyone to at least try to read it, as its a very good piece of work by Maverick. Its fairly advanced tho, so be warned ;-)

Sure, the newsletters are fantas... erm no actually, theyre ok I suppose ;-) Contributions are few and far between, but occasionally theres a few very good essays you wouldnt find from the usual haunts.

The claim of being a monthly newsletter should be taken with a pinch of salt. It gets sent out when I have time to compile it, and when theres a reasonable amount of content. There should be a new newsletter sent out tonight, hopefully.

I got the email and I followed the instructions - but I still have no access to the old monthly letters and the files area.

In the Membership section I just see the following text:

"The moderators have
not yet approved your
membership to this
group. You may still
update your
membership options or
unsubscribe."

Carpathia: Thank you for the link to the crypkey essay. It seems to be very useful - it will take me some time to read it. Anyway, I would like to become a member of REKML.
