i wanīt to know how can I make out the serial of sharewares with the help of softice, when I donīt know how long is the serial....I see some sharewares with serials very long (CloneCD).

Your question is a bit confusing so this might not be the answer you want, but basically most programs have different forms of protection, it's not the same for all programs. Some programs like you say require you to enter a serial number of the correct length, you basically have to find the protection first and then examine it to see where it checks if your serial number length is correct. Take some beginner cracking tutorials and you'll get the idea...
