When I installed softice I chose to have it startup with windows(win2k) but now I want it so I have to manually start it up every time as some programs I use quite often have shortcuts on the CTRL+D key so how can I make it so I have to manually start it every time I want to use it?

Hello Tech !

Well, it shouldn't be to difficult. Just go to your "NuMega SoftICE" program group in the startmenu and change the default startup method there. I hope you haven't deleted it. If you have, you must configure the softice service to start manually in the service manager.
You can start SoftICE by executing "NET START NTICE" (i think it was "NTICE", I'm using Win98 )

Even better, use the ALTKEY command to change the default hot-key from Ctrl-D, then you've always got Softice charged up and raring to go
