Hi people,
I got some questions concerning ViaTech's eLicense System, I hope you can help me out, or atleast give me some ideas.
How can I locate the ProductID, VendorID and Password for an eLicense wrapped application ?
I know that eLicense is using RC5 along with some custom cipher, is it an standard RC5 implementation, do you have any information on their custom encryption ?
Thanks, xor37h

Please do some more research. You have to make some kind of an effort and show your work.
What have you done so far?

Thanks for your reply Woodmann,
Well I guess that I have done what most everyone have done when cracking eLicense targets, that being unpacking them to remove the server license layer.
This is in itself not a big challenge, nor is it anything which requires a big deal of skill or efford.
I dont really feel that I have anything to show or anything to prove on this issue, it was just a request for comments from anyone who might have done some true reverse engineering on this matter.
Have a nice day, xor37h

Hmmm RC5 you say? May have to have a look sometime when I get a chance. Have you found anything so far or just doing research and seeing what others have found already?
Oh and btw... I don't think you really have to prove/show anything xor37h. There are enough of us around that know what you do

(Thanks for sharing those keygen sources!)

xor37h,
Sorry for the pissy reply earlier. I knew not what you have done. If you still desire, I shall look and see what I have concerning ViaTech.

Hmmmm
Damn release a proxy elicense software which has an INI file with it.
These have the Codes and passwords to register each software.
Might be worth downloading them and tracing through to find the codes and cross compare.
Anyway Damn have a working elicense proxy server. for 3 products (the version i have)
Maybe name the target so we can have a look

I've done a bit of work on eLicense myself. I haven't reversed for over 2 months due to more important obligations, but you can (or used to be able to, its still around) get the demo eLicense packager from the ViaTech site. It also comes with something that will remove licenses from your computer if you know the product number. I recommend you reverse that program and see which database(?) it queries to find out which license goes with which license number. It shouldn't be too hard, I was just starting to work on it before i stopped reversing for a while...maybe I will start again soon.
