ok, I installed Driverstudio 2.5 rc1... but somehow I can't seem to load applications with the loader anymore.

I run the loader, open an application (.exe) and then when I press the "load symbols" it gives me an error that it can't find the debug information. Couldn't u load an app through symbol loader so that u rbeak in immediately at the program entry point?

I dunno what the deal is, or what I could be doing wrong but has anyone else the same problem and more important... a solution?

TIA,

DGR

first you open the exe file that you want to track.
then open file menu

Module->Settings->Debugging

the default option is "Load Symbol information"

you must change it,select "Load Executable" and "Stop at WinMain,Main,dllMain" option

click ok button,then press load, a messagebox display,click ok,u rbeak in immediately at the program entry point.

In my Win2K SP2 system the loader doesn't seem to behave properly all the time. It could load the program and popup the Softice window, or it could just complain about the symbols and not popup the sice window. Random. Trying a few times and opening various tabs of the loader in random, seems to wake it up.
What's good with 2.5RC1 is that it seems to work properly with NVidia-based cards at last.
What's not so good is that it stopped working with my old Matrox Millennium II. No sice window popup.
Go figure...
