okey i'm completely new to this cracking thing and my goal was to make a keygen for mirc 5.81. I tried bmsg, and bpm, and stuff but i never could get back to the mirc code. Then i used a bpx on messageboxa and after one press of f21 i got back into the mirc code. but after i scrolled up and saw something that looked like it varified the serial i set a bpx on it. When i redid the try and register with bogus serial it stopped right where the break point was but lead me through like 50 jumps .... with each jump it got more confusing. So if anyone would like to tell that this is a very ambitious project for a newbie or let me know if you have tried. Or some hint to what all this means. Anything you think that would help me create the keygen.

Did u get Windows ME Sice patch from Ms?

i'm and idiot ... i just didn't scroll up high enough in softice so when ever it was breaking it was breaking past the authentication. And i also had to edit my winice.dat like crazy so it would load all the export tables i needed.
