coz this does nothing with any protector, so I post here.
If I run a prog after Revirgin(v1.2b7), this process doesn't appear in the pull-down list, so I can't select it unless I restart Revirgin.
Thx for your attention.

Hi,
click right mouse on "Select the process to attach"
you will see "refresh"

update :P
the more you refresh the more applications in there it seems
probably a bug..

thanks,
I've corrected the bug, and the "refresh" right click was replaced
by a button, easier to find for people that doesn't know revirgin.

I deleted all the files of previous version(including the 2 DLLs and *.sys in system directory), downloaded the latest "Revirgin.msi" and extracted it to a directory with WinRAR, then copy the 2 DLLs to %systemroot% and *.sys to %systemroot%\system32\drivers. But Revirgin.exe still says "please update tracer.dll to the latest version in your %systemroot% directory"
Seems that the version of EXE is not the same as that of DLL.
Thx agagin

ok, I'll upload a brand new recompiled version to download
ich werde eine neue Version stellen habe download
chinese : #~l%ù$£££ $£££ && (sorry I don't have the right character set
The wise installer doesn't change the revirgin.exe when you just "reinstall" with new msi, so better uninstall first.
tsehp
ps: when rv makes this messages, it only detects that the file dates between rv.exe and tracer.Dll are different, you can also make a date change, but better download latest versions.

It's ok now. I just changed the file date with a "touch" command.
Let's continue IAT rebuilding with this great tool

Neither Revirgin 1.2b6 nor 1.2b7 came with updated Thread or Tracer DLL's. I'm wondering if the 4/1/01 version of Thread.dll and the 4/23/01 version of Tracer.dll are the latest versions and, if not where we can get the newer versions. I also had problems getting 1.2b7 to work without the request for an updated DLL. After installing this version several times without success, I installed 1.2b6, which seems to accept my version of the Tracer. Loading 1.2b7 over 1.2b6 seems to have made 1.2b7 accept them as well, which it wouldn't do on my machine if 1.2b6 was unloaded first.
No complaint intended. Just trying to stay current with your great tool and hoping some day I might have the skills to contribute to to RCE in some useful way.

Just thought I'd explain the problems I've been having loading the new version 1.2b7 because it might help someone else who is making the same errors I was making. I had Revirgin 1.1 installed and running and it used thread.dll dated 4/1/01 and tracer.dll dated 4/23/01. Part of my original confusion was that I understood the initial instructions to be to install the dll's in the "system" folder. I assumed that meant the C:\windows\system folder.
Every time I attempted to install Revirgin 1.2b7 I got the "please update tracer.dll to the latest version in your %systemroot% directory" dialogue. Looking in my "C:\windows\system" folder I still had the "older" versions of the dll's, and assumed they hadn't been "updated" causing the program not to work. Part of my confusion was that I didn't realize that %systemroot% mean it was installing the dll's into "C:\windows", rather than into "C:\windows\system."
I then tried installed 1.2b6, and but because I was still looking in the "C:\windows\system folder" I saw only that the dll's again were not "updated," but the program now worked and identified itself as version 1.2. I then loaded version 1.2b7 "over" 1.2b6 and the program seemed to run, but there was no "refresh" button mentioned by Tsehp, but I assumed it was operating with the correct dll's, but was again wrong because I wasn't looking in the "root" directory of the "system" folder. It was actually running with the dlls from version 1.2b6.
Having now discovered that I should have been looking in the "C:\windows", rather than "C:\windows\system" folder, I deleted all tracer and thread dlls and reinstalled 1.2b7 and continue to get the error message.
Soloman's message mentions "*.sys" files and deleting those also, but a search of my "C:windows" and "C:windows\system" folders finds no "*.sys" files dated in 2001 so maybe this indicated he is not running Win98SE like I am. I'm not sure.
I believe I downloaded Revirgin 1.2b7 again after Tsehp stated he had recompiled it, but I will try again from the start, first trying to reinstall my current version of 1.2b7 with the repair feature, both with uninstalling first and without uninstalling, and then try again after downloading the file "again" and starting from step one.
Thanks again for the great program.

Just a final report on the effort to make Revirgin1.2b7 stop putting up the dialogue that it needed an update of thread.dll.
Nothing I tried, including downloading the file again would get 1.2b7 to accept the dll that comes with the download, apparently because, as Tsehp stated, there is a difference in the date between the dll and the exe. The exe is dated 11/4/01 and the dll is dated 11/3/01. The only thing which seemed to work, as Tsehp also stated, is to change the date of one or the other to make them the same. Apparently Tsehp hasn't had time yet to upload a recompiled version, and considering all the good work he's been doing, it is not suprising.
Solomon stated that he used a "touch" command to change his date. I don't know what a "touch" command is, but had a successful result using WinCommander to make the dates of the exe and the dll the same. Should work for the rest of you until that next upload.
Tsehp - I'm wondering what resolution your using for your screen. On my machine the main dialog of Revirgin now overlaps the bottom of the screen and has a "thumb" to scroll to the bottom portion to see all of the controls. Not a problem to use at all and I can always adjust my own screen resolution to make it smaller.
Thanks again for a great tool.
