Anyone know how I can find the Dial-Up passwords in Win2000? All programs to check behind the asterisks don't work in Win2K. I had three options but I can't find the URL. If anyone has any of these or another approach it would help.

i) Fravia's page article on how to change the dial-up DLL resources to make the edit box a non password edit box. I don't remember which DLL was to be patched.

ii) There is a dial-up sniffer which is used to get the encrypted passwords of all these free ISPs. I lost the URL and the name of that proggie.

OK here's the latest:

i) Using Exescope to change the password edit box in RASDLG.DLL is no use. The text there is actually ********

ii) Found the dial-up sniffer. Its called RASSPY. It's the solution to all free ISP blues. But it doesn't work on Win2K.

iii) #cracking4newbies...thanks cynica_l...the answer is portmon by the filemon guy. sniffs the COM port....gives the password, the only way to do it without cracking the cryptography. Maybe someone should think about that.

Time to run naked down the street.
