Any1 know wtf is wrong with NAV and UPX ??
When autoprotect is enabled, running any kind of UPX
packed file causes the system to almost grind to a halt.

Hello Lord_Soth !
I've never had a problem like this. I'm using NAV 2001.
I once had a problem with only one file packed by DIET 1.45f (DOS packer) which made the manual scan hang, but a email to Symantec and this problem vanished with the next NAV definitions.
Always try to get the latest virus definitions every week.

I've never installed any other AVP, just NAV2000.
My system is not the only one suffering from this. The homepage
of the program I use that has the problem specifically says it's
a problem with UPX and NAV. Apparently it was reported by many
users.

PeEditor 1.7 by yoda & M.o.D. got this problem ^_^
so i unpacked it ,and repacked it with the latest upx for myself.
exe file using UPX version 0.9x to 1.0X may get this problem, but the author of UPX had fixed it in later version(Do u know what he did ???). In my case, version after 1.06 is OK
other AVP (i used McAfee) work with NAV2000 would make the problem worse. PE-editor 1.7(b4 i fixed it) spend at least 5 minits to show the program window !! If only NAV alone , cost about 3 minutes ...
So, I use NAV2002 now, never happen this problem again.
