I hit Ctrl-D to bring up SoftIce and all it did was freeze all activity, including mouse(no window came up)...then hit F5 to return to Windows.....
Am I just slow? hehe
I'm a newbie to rev. engineering but think it's cool to modify programs, for any reason. I used to do a little on an old macintosh, but don't know much about doing it on a PC.

====EDIT====
(found it's my drivers)
always helps to search first...one thing though...what's this driverstudio stuff and where can i get it?

thanks...

i got it working...i guess..i re-installed the latest drivers and restarted, got a blue screen... my computer "took a dump" or whatever
(first time it did that, i uninstalled Softice..hehe)

then when i got to my desktop, i hit ctrl-d, and the little screen came up with a bunch of gibberish

i have tutorials, so i should be ok for a bit.

Its impolite to talk to yourself.

But seriously...

You MUST be on NT or above.

And a good thing is to use the Universal driver.

And try to run softice MANUALLY, rather than configuring it to run as a service or at Boot time.
