Guys.
Need some help. I have a crypkey wrapped exe. I was attempting to unpack it and i accidently clicked on authorise and lost my trial 7 days.
Does anyone know how to restore the 7 days trial. Have read mayrcri essay but that was older version.
If you want the name of the proggie let me know.
I have deleted all the 4kb files but still refuses to run.

Hello,
The solution I have done was to reformat the hardisk, but it is not elegant.
Sometimes ago, you mentioned that you succeeded in reconstructing the SKW. Could you kindly share the knowledge.

I have all the calls to the Cryp95e.dll trapped and they answer with the correct answer as per the crypkey manual but still no luck. There must be a way to reset the program to give me a new trial. I patched the crypkey in memory to avoid CRC errors etc by changing the register.
Regarding SKW.exe If you need a copy of the unpacked i can email but the method used was to trace through the code until the IAT was decrypted and use procdump to dump the proggie. Then used revirgin to rebuild remaining IAT. Then patched the remaining crc check in the SKW.exe.
I haven't had the time to do much more than do a quick look at the exe. Still haven't registered the SKW.exe yet.
I have noticed more programs appearing with crypkey wrapping and site code locks. But there is a lack of good quality information around which details the method of operation. Wish i could contact duelist and get the source code for those keygens.
Oh by the way the proggie I was trying to get to work is paqrat Can someone have a look and possibly unpack the bloody thing. I keep getting errors cause i have installed too many crykey software on to the machine.
If anyone knows how to clean out the harddisk from any presence of crypkey let me know.

Hello peterg70,
Thank for the reply.
I would appreciate very much if you could send me the unpack SKW.exe. Let's see what we can do with that.
Bye,

Hi to all
Use Norton Ghost utility for future targets!
Well the info will be of NO use for your current situation, but will be helpful for *future targets*. Just in case if you are formating your hard-disk.
I'll explain briefly what this Utility does.
Genereally i create partition on hard-disk. C: D: E: etc... Install windows & all the minimum softxx that i might require to c:
Next i create an image file using Norton Ghost of the drive where we have install all programs generally C: & save the file to D: drive. Thats the reason for drives D:
Having finished doing this, i generally start installing the target soft... with 7 days or 3 hours etc... limitation. If i am enable to finish the work within the time period i load the image file stored earlier using the utility which brings back the earlier state of the machine & for that we don't have to reformat the hard-disk & need not reinstall the win9x....
Generally it takes 3-4 minutes on my machine to bring back the
earlier state of machine before the target was installed. Saves lots of time. Also the time taken depends upon the nos of softxx installed on your hard-disk & CPU speed.
Hope it will help you all for your future targets.
Well more info can be found using the utility.
Btw, I am using ver 5.1 of it (enough for me)
Latest ver is already out. Happy Searching!

Hi
I never used Norton Ghost, but from the description the same result
can be obtained (and much easear) with a virtual machine installed under vmware with the undoable option selected.
All you have to do is saying to discard changes and or operation system is virgin again. In fact you can use this feature to extend
ad infinitum your trial period.

Hi Solomon,
From your comment maybe you (or any other one) can tell me about something i haven't yet dare to try.
Is it safe to install softice under vmware?
You see, scice is suposed to run below the operating system, but
the os installed in the virtual machine is not the real os.

Yep, my friend tried to install SoftICE under VMWare, and never got it to work properly. :-( If anyone succeeded in doing this, please tell us all how you did. It would be very interseting to hear!
