Greetings on the board,
I have a question to someone who knows the Windows ME system quite good.
I'm trying to locate where the ME keeps the startup logo. In win 98, you could find the startup logo in a file named logos.sys (or logow.sys) - can't remember exactly which one. But a search in ME does not reveal the logo I'm looking for. And I can't open the file io.sys in Paint either (if I remember correctly, io.sys contains a backup of the startup logo).
If anyone could please explain where I can find the file containing the logo, I would be grateful. Or if anyone could point me in the right direction and give me some hints on where on the net I can get some constructive information.
TIA,
Regards from hobgoblin

not sure on ME, but for 95/98 logos.sys is the "You may now shut off..." screen. logosw.sys is the "Please wait ...." screen, and I don't know where it "originally" gets the startup screen from, but here's how to change it.

make a bitmap image 320 x 400 (it will take a little guesswork to get the proportions right, since it gets stretched across the width of the screen). There may be a color limitation too, but I can't remember (256 maybe?). Anyway, rename the file to logo.sys and place it in your root (C directory. Windows will then use it as the startup screen.

Like I said, that's 95/98....try it w/ ME & see if it works (logo.sys doesn't exist on 95/98 either, unless you put one in to change the screen)

Hope it works 4 ya ;-)
