Hi All,

I have come across two programs that use name/serial protection, but simply will not break on hmemcpy.
(I use Win 98).
The interesting part is hmemcpy does not break even when you are entering the code

The programs,
Guitar Calculator 1.0 -http://www.guitarcalc.com/download.html
Devalipi Pro 3.2 -www.devalipi.com/pages/download.html

Guitar Calculator is packed with PETITE. Devalipi is not packed.
I used FrogIce, no detection messages.

How do you proceed with such programs??

ENJOY CRACKING...!!!

riPPadoGG;

Welcome, I would highly recommend that when you seem to have run out of answers that you try the "search" button at the top of the forum. If you use that button and do a search for "Hmemcpy" you will find that alot of people have had questions about it not working for them, although it really does not work on W2k. What you will find is that windows uses various API calls to retreive text from dialogue boxes, besides hmemcpy. Review these prior posts, including the one cited below, and it will give you good clues on other bpx to try.

There are also good articles on the +sandman's site on using Softice and getting it to work for reversing.

Good luck.
