hello everyone!

i just installed Driver studio 2.6 to have the latest soft ice.
Everything works fine *BUT* my keyboard is an azerty one !
And soft ice use it , like if it was a qwerty one !
Hence "a" becoming "q", "z" becoming "w" and so on..
pretty irittating i must say, especially while setting some break points

bpx ;essqgeboxq is not that leet ;-)
i looked on the numega's web site, and found a lil utility in asm
that is used to fix that problem..
Sadly, i coudln't make it work, even the german keyboard file
provided as example doesn't work, so i assume i ain't doing
anything bad!

If someone could help me with that problem, i would be
very happy ;-)

Best regards and happy new year everyone

hey!

well, i sort of patched my brain aswell
but i dont' like it very much that way ..
I already played with that keycode thingy, but couldn't make it works.
First, im using win9x and the last soft ice.
winice.exe , winice.vxd and dat are in the c:\windows\ folder.

I have been trying to patch it using that file, but it keeps saying
keytable not found, or something similar!
even with the german.key that comes as an exemple ..

i don't know what im doing wrong

keycode winice france
or keycode winice germany (from the sample)

i got the same result

if someone could try it out, i would really appreciate it!
thx

signing off,

Hi Frog Hunter

French ???

Hexedit your C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\ntice.sys
At b4ee2 you must see SIWK (search if not) and after some data like 'qwerty...'.!!
Yop
You can edit as you want it. Save after & dont forget to recalculate new checksum (.sys'one have to be right).
Use the nice PEditor to do (for example!).

oh, i didn't think about this at all.
I have been using the win9x version so the file one has to
edit is : c:\windows\winince.vxd

then it is pretty much the same!
thx for the idea, i didn't even think that would be that simple
i already did a lil patch for further installations hehe ;-)

Amicalement ;P
