i'm using win98se, softice 4.26 + icedump 6.025.
icedump worked very well with sice 4.05. then i got sice 4.26, and i also downloaded the debug symbols from m$ for win98se and of course i added those new nms files to my winice.dat's "LOAD=" lines.
then everything went fine - except icedump, which refused to load with the well known "VXDLDR failed to load icedump" message.
but why the hell..? i've loaded the kernel32 exports so it should work.. then i gave up because i thought i've got a different built of sice than icedump would support..
but then i remembered that icedump relies on kernel32 export stuff.. so i started up softice, ran the symbol loader and removed all the debug symbols (among them: kernel32.nms)
then i double-clicked icedump.exe once again and: it worked
)
so it seems that icedump doesnt like the kernel32 debug symbols to be loaded when you start it.
hope anyone finds this interesting
