Howdy,
For those who decide to not read the FAQ, I will delete your post but save the text for all to see the lameness.

Quote:
I have CASPR version 1.100 b9, but lastest software protected by Asprotect can't be unpacked with this util (unknown version). Have anyone newer version of this progie, or link, where to get lastest version of this cool util ?
Or maybe have you other soft, that can unpack lastest version of Asprotect ?

Is there a problem with the search feature on this message board?
Is Google broken?

Peace, Woodmann

Hi Woodmann,

Not being busy-body here i hope, but personally i feel that for a newbie whose skill is initially limited to patching and disassembling... playing with a packed prog is not possible hence an unpacker is required in initial state... like when I first play with packer, i needed every single tool like revirgin, procdump, /tracex to aid my initial step.. as i go on i learn to use less of them and manually do stuff... but it all takes time and some initial confidence...

This guy might or might not be a lamer... as the way i see it.. is it a bit too harsh on him if he was just a newbie trying to learn? I thought that putting him right up to Hall Of Shame might be a bit too harsh, rather some advices might be more appropriate? At least it is not "I cant crack this product, will someone look into it for me?"

Just my 3 cent :>
(actually it's worth at least a pound :> with all the brain cell wasted in how to phrase this :>

Howdy,
Your input is welcome at all times, dont be afraid to "take me to task" when posting.

What I dont like is the fact that the poster has maybe used CASPR and is now depending on someone to provide the information needed to aid in unpacking Asprotect when he/she should have searched.

It has already been stated that "the way you phrase your question" will be what determines the response.
As far as I can tell this person did nothing more than make one attempt at Aspro and then decided to ask for help instead of searching the approx 189 post concerning Asprotect.

The bottom line is he/she asked for a "progie or software".
It goes against the FAQ, which nobody seems to read.

If a newbie knows the target is protected by Aspro, then they should know enough to search that protection.
It was also posted in the wrong forum, another thing one would have noticed by reading the FAQ. Newbies post in the newbie forum if he/she was a newbie. Asking for tools is a most heinous crime, it doesnt matter what forum it is posted in.

Now, since about 8 people saw the original post, I dont think anyone will remember who wrote it. The original poster may re-phrase his/her question and try again.

This is like school, show your work and you will get a response regarding your problem.

Peace, Woodmann
