I am looking for a tool to unpack a dll which is obviously packed with aspack 2.12 (maybe asprotect too?) or someone who can give me a step by step guidance to unpack it manually.

Greetings

Salute!

In general a DLL-file can be unpacked this way: you should run the very prog which cares about this DLL and thus it'll be loaded into memory. Then open the process you've just initialized with PEditor/LordPE/ProcDump/etc. and look at the list box named "Module Name" - there you'll see the DLL. What should be done now? Just dump it and make some amendments. It's in general terms.

If this shit keeps up I am going to just delete every request
that can be answered in the FAQ or through searching the message board.

1) This was posted in the wrong forum.

2) Someone didnt read the FAQ. Had they read it they would
would have seen that this whole thing could have been avoided.

3) I am losing my patience for these people who have made NO attempt to find some information on their own.

This is it. From now on I will just delete the thread. No exceptions.

@ Risotto :
thanks for your help, I will try this

@ Woodman :
FAQ ? What FAQ ? The Board-FAQ ?
I don't want to know anything about cookies and the other (zensored) things.
Wrong Forum ? Why ?
REVERSE ENGINEERING is (IS) the right Forum !
Where should I post it ?
Please tell me, because I don't know.

> Had they read it they would

they ? she ? it ? I'M a man, come on !

> I am losing my patience for these people who have made NO attempt to find some information on their own.

NO ATTEMPT ?
I spend several hours to get informations in many forums and, websites etc. but the tools and tips doesn't work, so I just postet a question in your board (I think that's what boards are for).

Please be patient with some newbies (me, no not really).
Also I have some experiences I have much to learn, I think everybody has, too.

nevertheless, thank you
Tsunami

P.S. 1 : I think that Woodman is a Pro, but that doesn't mean that everyone is a Pro, too and that 'lame' questions aren't allowed.
If there is an 'easy' way to unpack, than tell me.
Why fail the generic unpackers if it is such an easy task ?

P.S. 2 : I am a moderator of another forum and I feel with you (newbies are stressful). Maybe I broke some rules, but it is your job to straighten this out and not to blame anyone (it's hard, I know that from experience).

P.S. 3 : don't delete anything, because it doesn't solve the problem itself

Edit 1 :
I have done a search and found this :
http://www.woodmann.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2707&highlight=aspack

The Quest goes on ;-)
I am really willing to learn, but I am lazy, too

If you know what to do it is really simple, but if you don't it seems like an impossible mission.
